for electronics enthusiasts and instrument builders, we've decided to sell some of our logic boards alone. fully assembled and tested, with choice of firmware (analog or encoders). since the firmware is reprogrammable, this is really a nice kit for experimentation. onboard are USB, maxim 8x8 led driver, 8bit shift in, 8bit shift out, and 4 open pins with pads (also 4 ground and 4 V+ pads) for easy soldering). we highly recommend some electronics experience for this circuit to be useful to you. silicone keypads, led board, leds, enclosure, top plate (all of the *really* expensive stuff) not included. we'll be here to help you out, and look forward to seeing some custom designs. $80, very limited stock. contact us via email at orders@monome.org cheers!

Hi huys, This is great! I want to buy 4 of these (2 analog and 2 as encoder) to include in my next project and to add to the development of "leaving Traces" please let me know how 2 proceed. I'm a dutch interactive artist and follow your works for some time now. Is there a resource that explains how the buttons and leds and such are hooked up to the logic board and also how the firmware works with the shift registers to interpret button presses and whatnot? I'm totally new to the monome and I am trying to figure out how hard it would be to take one of the logic boards and build up a monome out of my own buttons/leds/enclosure. Thanks!

This is great because I can't afford a full-blown 40h (unless someone wants to offload theirs, maybe?) but I've got time to make a homebrew one (but everyone knows it won't be half as cool-looking, oh well). I'm just curious, are there enough that if I ask for it for christmas and don't get it, there'll be one in stock for me to buy?
