Hello,
sorry for the noobnes here. Was thinking of getting bigger keypads or
pads for the monome. Im thinking something just smaller than my Korg
padkontrols pads. Did a quick google search for keypads, came up with a
few thousand results. Anyone know how i would narrow the search down -
or better yet know where i would be able to find larger keypad kits on
the web. possibly by providing sites and some part names. Any love would
be appreciated.

Peace,
Mike

yes, the sparkfun pads are bigger. not as big as the padkontrol pads.
maybe 1/4 of the size?

look at the bottom of this page for a comparison with the 40h buttons:

Thanks for the heads up on the Sparkfun Pads.
Would you need a different PCB than the one the Monomes Supply with the
DIY Kits?

Thanks,
Mike

sort of.

If you are going to use different keypads, i'd suggest buying only the
logic kit, then buying they keypads & pcbs from sparkfun. if you want
what you build to have the same functionality (i.e. no ghosting) as a
regular 40h, then you will also have to figure out how to get diodes
into the sparkfun pcb. tehn mentioned using a dremel in this thread:
http://forum.monome.org/topic/1419#9172

if you already have a dremel, this isn't so bad of an idea. if not, it
will probably cost a little more, BUT, you'll get a dremel out of it!
also, you can use sparkfun's bezel, which is convenient, but also
expensive ($80 for a black acrylic faceplate), and not to mention a bit
ugly (screw heads on the top.. blech)
