hello folks

i'm actually building a 40h kit and
i have a big problem, could u and your knowledges help me ?:

when i test the pad in the 40h test patch, all my
pad works correctly exepted one: when i press the pad
nothing happens (there is no orange signal)
but the led, the diode and the solder works correctly
(i tested them with the led light test and a multimeter
for the diode and the solder)

i think it's a 40h test patch bug, what do u think about that

it's a hardware problem absolutely.

try rotating which keypad is on the problem spot.

most likely the star patten was accidentally soldered together. visually
inspect intensely.

I believe tehn meant the 'star' pattern, that's the sqiuggly lines under
the buttons. it sounds like you accidentally dropped a bit of solder on
a star pattern. it could also be that a diode is in backwards (I know
you tested it but with 64 of them it's easy to miss one.)

the 40h test patch has been well tested by dozens of users, it's fine.

hi there

i re made the diode solder and now it works fine:
it seems it was the solder, it was so little that
i didn't saw that there was a lead not well connected

when i was testing the diode i put the multimeter above
the 2 solder points but i didn't remark that one of the
diode's lead was just upside the solder as when i put the
multimeter on it, it makes the lead touch the solder
and makes contact fine....

scuse me for this mistake, i'm no very experienced in surface
mount diode soldering and in the future i should more use my eyes
before asking some help in DIY projects

anyway it works fine now HOURRA !

thanx for the monome team and to all the monome communauty:
this is a great unit, made and played by smart and connected people
the future is here
