so i've got a performance video to show you guys, but i can't get it
down to a size that vimeo or youtube will accept. its 4 minutes long
and 970 mb right now - i know nothing about video encoding. the video
plays fine in quicktime. i tried:

iMovie - won't let me load my movie as a scene, despite taking 20
minutes to import the file.
ReelBean - told me i had to buy it
VisualHub - told me i had to buy it
DivX Converter Trial - told me my file was corrupted

any *FREE* OS X video converting advice?
if anyone can do this easily i could try to ftp it to somebody.

ffmpegx is a nice video encoder: http://homepage.mac.com/major4/

based around nice open source software. Out of curiosity, how did you
make the video file in the first place?
