is anyone using ardour?

it would be nice to control mixing and effects with monome w/wheel. and
record into ardour with all the apps presented in this forum...

i use ardour sometimes, but i've not used it lately, nor have i ever
tried using it with the 40h.

how would you control mixing? with columns or rows as sliders?

if you're just concerned with recording what comes out of mlr or 64step
or something like that, you can always use the max/msp file recorder.
i've never used the Runtime version cause i have the whole program, but
i know mlr has file recording built in to the options pop-up window.

i thought that maybe if you add
http://wiki.monome.org/view/40hOpticalEncoderTutorial
the optical encoder or two??. you could quite fast select something via
the monome and change value via the encoders. that would be nice instead
of using the mouse or buying a big ass expensive mixer...

i have the 40h so the upper 32 buttons could be track numbers and the
other 32 could be things to change... vol, pan, send fx1 levl, fx
parameters, eq's. there's a lot of functions when mixing which is realy
nice to have a good large scale control over and to be able to do fast.

btw, i also have max/msp and do a little stuff in it. but i found out
that ardour is very osc friendly, opensource and seems like a good
project. perfect for sequencing all your monome playing... maybe...

and btwbtw.(i don't know how to do it, sorry) i would have done it a
long time ago.
