I'll be in Austin for a (work) conference Oct 17,18,19.

Anyone have ideas for music/art events/exhibits that might be worth
checking out?

nope, but I just moved here from Victoria, BC . . . but I'm from SA town 
and know a few peeps. I'll see what's up...I know of an idm show from 
some acquaintance. Gonna try and play there if you wanna see a 40h in 
action.

holy crap - I just realized Maker Faire Austin is that weekend!

Maybe I'll just stay on a couple extra days...

I see there is a camping option - would this be a reasonable experience? 
Or more of a 24hr drum-circle nightmare?  My all-night partying days are 
behind me but I like camping and the price is right.
