we'll consider producing another run of kits if there is sufficient demand. if you're interested post a response below (let us know if you'd like more than one.) this is not a formal order.

I would love to add a few kits to my live rig.

I would get another kit (same size pads) if you make more. I should have got 2 but I didn't want to be greedy:) let us all know peace Cole

Hi i'm interested by this kit but i'm in france and i want to know if that's possible to buy one and how ... thanks!
on 15.09.2007 18:15
Hello, very interested as well, same request as exactly above :-) Best regards
on 15.09.2007 19:32
Definitely interested in a kit as well! Would go nicely in a custom modular synth setup.
on 17.09.2007 10:00
Please let me know when the blinking lights are back in stock!!!!! thx
on 17.09.2007 10:08
Ey... lovely... hope it soon will be produced... what about a two fifty six kit? regards Julian
on 17.09.2007 15:42
I visit every day to see if the kit is available. Please please please, make more!
on 17.09.2007 18:59
it seems there's sufficient demand for the kit, so we're planning on running another 100. unfortunately it's going to take a bit of time to get the keypads back in stock, since they'll need to be manufactured and they're competing for machine time with the new series keypads. we have no plans to do kits based on the new series. part of this is because the whole thing requires surface mount parts, and we're having those circuits machine-assembled. on the other hand, i've been thinking about designing another logic kit that could interface two keypads kits, so you'll get a 8x16. unfortunately it's a bit complicated, but i'm sure i'll find time soon. 80h? how many people would be interested in an 8x16 logic board? keep in mind, more parts, external power, more expensive.
on 17.09.2007 20:03
hey- i'd get a kit. i'm a programmer, have built a theremin. this seems like the next step. i think the simpler one is better. let the software handle the complexity.
on 18.09.2007 00:37
i'm now interested in a logic kit again =P ah sweet logistics!
on 18.09.2007 06:30
I actually came to this website to purchase a kit. Very sad to find they are sold out. When you stock them again I will buy one. or two at a bulk rate :|
on 18.09.2007 18:34
I will definitely buy a kit when/if they are available again... thanks!
on 18.09.2007 20:37
Would love a kit and would buy one when it's available, particularly if it was an 80h!
on 18.09.2007 23:48
I would buy a kit if there was another 40h run.
on 18.09.2007 23:56
I'm definetely interested in a 40h kit. I desperately need the keypad. Plus I'd consider a larger matrix as well, in case you guys are up to offer the other models as kits as well.
on 19.09.2007 01:03
an 8x16 kit sounds great. i would go for one of those!
on 19.09.2007 14:33
Hi, rather than two 8x8s I would buy an 8x16 Will
on 19.09.2007 16:35
Hi, excuse me if this is a dumb question but I am new to monome. I have been looking at the new sixty four, other than aesthtetics and one being a kit, are there any functional differences between the 64 and the 40h? Thanks, Steko
on 19.09.2007 17:25
> other than aesthtetics and one being > a kit, are there any functional differences between the 64 and the 40h? the 40h wasn't originally a kit. also, the 64 has the same buttons that the 256 will have, which are redesigned from the original 40h buttons. other than the new buttons and the wood enclosure, functionality should be exactly the same.
on 19.09.2007 17:42
http://monome.org/40h http://monome.org/40h/kit i don't think the 8x16 logic kit is going to happen. i simply don't have enough time.
on 19.09.2007 18:01
how do we place an order? megalomaneiac@yahoo.com
on 19.09.2007 18:11
they are sold out so they're not taking any more orders until they make more. http://forum.monome.org/topic/1171#9433
on 19.09.2007 22:57
i know how you feel about not having enough time *sigh* i'm in th same boat myself! i shall commence with my saving up for a 128 (or 256 if i'm lucky)
on 20.09.2007 02:38
Well, if there isn't enough time for a 8x16 kit that's fine. I would rather that time be spent on furthering the platform that is presently there. You have provided infomation that most developers wouldn't even think of so your project falls into a very speacial realm. I am sure that the collective of knowledge that you are building will eventually spring forward with new directions from other individuals. I for one can sit tight and learn while waiting.
on 20.09.2007 03:06
Sign me up for 1 or 2. I'm not much of solderer though, This kit would give me more practice and to be able make something I will use a lot. If it breaks I'd know how to fix it!
on 20.09.2007 16:15
Im interested to make my own 4x8 using the keypad kits from sparkfun. So i know that the keypad kit is the hold up because you have to have them manufactured. Can we please buy the logic kit now?! Or any idea how hard it would be to piece the logic kit together myself?
on 20.09.2007 16:34
since the whole thing is open source, all of the information is available for you to build the logic device (and even the keypad) yourself. you could probably even get free samples of the atmega, max7221, and 74hc chips from each of the manufacturers. the tough part then is that you don't have a pcb, so you'd either have to etch one yourself or do point to point wiring (not the end of the world, just time consuming) based on the schematic. you'll also need a jtag programmer to program the atmega chip and a decent amount of patience, depending on your soldering skill. all of the info you need is at http://monome.org/40h/kit at the bottom of the page where it says "source files" as for why you can't buy one now, i'd imagine because the pcbs need to be manufactured and all of the parts need to be organized. i'm pretty sure brian and kelli are focusing on the 256 right now, so that's probably why they're not putting the kits at the top of the priority list (can you blame them?)
on 20.09.2007 17:10
nah i cant blame them. Doesnt make me want it any less though. Does anyone have any experience using the sparkfun kits? And also- does anyone have a good idea of where to buy from one place that will have everything that i need part wise for the logic kit aside from the jtag programmer?
on 20.09.2007 19:17
try www.jameco.com www.digikey.com i don't know if you'll be able to find everything in one place.
on 21.09.2007 14:48
hmmmm Wondering how hard its going to be to actually make the Logic Kit PCB on my own ???
on 24.09.2007 08:50
Will there be another 40h production run, or are you moving to 64/128/256 only?
on 24.09.2007 08:58
Please advise if/when the kits are available again, thank you.
on 24.09.2007 11:38
I'd definitely go for one if I don't get a 40h out of the next production run.
on 24.09.2007 21:12
> Wondering how hard its going to be to actually make the Logic Kit PCB on > my own you won't save much money (if any) and you won't save any time. if you've never done it before I can guarantee you'll have mistakes to fix.
on 02.10.2007 09:54
just registered to express my interest in a kit. sounds like they'll sell out pretty quickly.
on 04.10.2007 20:07
I'd like to order a PCB for the 40h ... I still haven't made my own and would actually rather buy one from you ... So I'm partially in demand for another order.
on 18.10.2007 13:50
Hey Florian, Did you get all your components for making a 40h minus the logic PCB?
on 19.10.2007 23:16
I would love a keypad and logic board kit ASAP... lol
on 22.10.2007 15:05
i am interested by 2 keypad (maybe 3) and 1 logic board kit. thanks
on 22.10.2007 18:17
Hey yeah I have all the other components I just need the PCB Board
on 22.10.2007 18:18
Sorry Last message is addressed to vj-anomolee. Any advise?
on 22.10.2007 18:59
well they have the circuit board design files on their site here, and you can use an online company like PCB express to take the file and ship you a the finished PCB. Where did you get all your components for the Logic kit? Please post your experience here after you order your PCB to let me know how it went.
