thanks, the faceplate is a composite material called Trespa, and the 
bottom case is solid Cherry.

this looks awesome. how does the top-plate connect to the cherry base?

d'oh! i see the screw holes in the cherry now. so you're screwing into 
the faceplate from the bottom, yeah?
