is there anyone who can tell me what i need in order to run (in the near
future)a 128 monome, prettymuch only using mlr, and dn't want to spend
more than 2000 greenbacks. anyone who can help will be my new favorite
freind.

i think the monome is the greatest invention and just decided to blow
tons of money on one...but i also hope to save a little money
though...money doesn't grow on trees...

i own a powerbook g4 with a broken disc drive...hopefully i can do all
of my future monome stuff on that. but what types of upgrades and $500
programs do i need to buy for these applications to work?

ANYONE INFORMATION WOULD BE MORE THAN GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! AND
HOPEFULLY YOU CAN EXPLAIN IT TO THE PERSON WITH THE LEAST COMPUTER
SKILLS YOU KNOW. THANKS 1,000,000!!!!!

the mlr patch works with the free runtime of max/msp, so that costs
nothing! also, the built-in soundcard should be adequate. really, to
get started you just need the device!

if you want to try out triggering some things, there is also the
40h_fake.mxb patch that responds to mouse clicking....

you know, to make sure your samples are cut right.

you can get your presets started this way pretty easily.

you don't need to buy max/msp. the powerbook should be ok. you'll have
lots of money left over.

you can run any max/msp patches with the free downloadable max/msp
runtime (check http://cycling74.com/downloads/maxmsp). you just can't
edit them.
