i'm on a mac intel runneing the latest runtime when i run _40_test.mxb everything is fine when i run _40_fake.mxb i get an error: udp.recv: bind to port 8080 unsuccesful i looked at this because i can't get _mlr to start. 64steps etc no problem, but _m;r won't. when i dubble click it opens an other max application (nothing to do with 40h) so i went back to basic and found this error (something to do with mlr?) well i'm puzzled does anyone can make any sence of this thanks

_40h_fake is designed to emulate a 40h, so it sounds correct that you are receiving errors trying to use both. if 64step is working, then your prefix is probably already set to /box, right? what patch opens when you double click _mlr?

hi first forester (an older thingy which i downloaded a view monyh ago after i deleted thatone it replayplayer is opening... and not mlr (and the prefix is sat to /box that is right)

now i got the message recieve~:no such object ubumenu:no such object #X:no such object etc. etc. and it opens sound recorder

you need to re-install max/msp (download newest runtime), open the runtime (don't click mlr), go to open file, then select mlr. your file associations sound like they're messed up.

hi it helps a bit... i can get mlr started up now i get other mesages: vst~: can't find plug-in using default the 1 parameter of default is P1 vst~: can't find plug-in using default the 1 parameter of default is P1 vst~: can't find plug-in using default the 1 parameter of default is P1 coll:finished 11 lines vst~: can't find plug-in using default the 1 parameter of default is and i'm missing otudp

otudp is an external you must download. newer patches use udpreceive and udpsend, but for the older patches, you can DL otudp from CNMAT's website, i believe.

you must be trying to run some old busted version of mlr. get the newest one from the wiki.

just in case someone down the road has the same issue; what did it turn out to be and how did you get it working?
on 07.07.2007 15:46
yes if i knew i would say so i think i messed up max/msp runtime but i'm not sure i did a complete fresh install of everything with everything i learned so far in the beginning i was to eager to get things running i put everything in the externals and startup maps of max/msp. now i keep things as clear as possible
